A completely new pasteurizer will be installed in Line 7. What does this add to this line?
Pasteurizing is heating a product at a temperature of 62.8 °C for half an hour or at 72.8 °C for 15 seconds, killing all the bacteria. This process is used for beers and also for energy drinks and milk-based products.
Why did we install a new pasteurizer for Line 7?
Line 7 didn’t have a pasteurizer while it is the most modern line at our disposal. By making this line even more multi-functional, we created more flexibility, providing the Planning department with better tools to respond to changes and to optimise the planning for the crews, materials and requested capacities.
What are the technical advantages compared to the other pasteurizers in the other lines?
The most modern pasteurizer has its own cleaning system and ensures that by using UV the hygiene level remains at the correct level. Older systems are cleaned once in the 6 weeks by means of scalding. In addition, the required pasteurizing temperature can be set to 1 point if so requested by the client.
Have we taken the environment into account?
The pasteurizer has a central PC-driven heating system, which reduces the energy costs substantially. In addition, the cleaning system drastically decreases water consumption. The use of chemicals during special cleaning cycles is also a thing of the past, while the quality of pasteurization nevertheless remains the same. The water in the machine no longer needs to be emptied during stops. Furthermore, the system no longer has to be scalded and subsequently, be cleaned manually.

Due to the construction of this pasteurizer, the vulnerable components can be reached easily during maintenance and service. The result is far less waiting times and therefore, more yield of the line.
