The history of DIS: Limburg brewers join forces.
In 1964 the Limburg brewers, Brand Beer, Ridder Beer, Leeuw Beer, Lindeboom and Gulpener Beer decided to join forces and jointly open a lemonade bottling company. The reason for this joint project was to expand the range of soft drinks.
This was the reason that we contacted Sinalco in Germany. Sinalco was assisted by these breweries in setting up its operations in the Netherlands. The soft drink family with lemon, tonic, orange and cola (cola with a K) became a success in the Netherlands. Sales expanded to company canteens and to the retail sector.
Until the 1990s, DIS in Sittard ran its own technical service for maintaining vending machines in the catering business. After Vrumona became a shareholder in the company, DIS started to sell Royal Club and the Vrumona’s beverage products.
The Sinalco activities ended, whereupon the focus shifted to contract filling.
